Soldering for idiots

Tried a new (to me) product liquid solder paste, available @ Ace hdw et al. Kinda spendy but if you find soldering a fearsome task it may alleviate some agnst.  It's best feature is it's applied cold w/ a brush, just to where you want it, touch the piece with the iron and "blammo" soldered parts.  It also leaves a hand free to hold / allaign components. Tiny discreet bonds can be had with little trouble.  It produces a fair amount of slag, so a post cleaning is a must.  I have been able to make bonds that I doubt I could have done without it, so for me it has already paid for itself.

I've got a project coming up where this would be very useful!  Can you tell me which brand you purchased?

Thanks Watchmann for catching that omit. The solder is called, Flo Temp instant plumbing solder, by Alpha metals.  It's lead free and has  silver in it's alloy, so it should make very strong bonds,   Anyone that gives it a try, please post your feed back here.

Thanks.

I'll have to see if the local Ace carries it.

I was looking at the package description, and it specifically says "for NON-ELECTRICAL applications". Anyone know how suitable this would be for soldering electrical connections, e.g. wiring LEDs to light up models?

One of my other hobbies is makeing jewlery and I have used soldier paste before.  It works ok but if you have to make multiple joints it re-melts fast.  Does this one do the same (looking for a new product)?

Denial, it's not just a coping mechanism, it's a way of life.

It remelts just as readily the 2nd time as the 1st, the good news is that you can apply it to several points of the piece simultainiously, heat and voila 3 joints at the same time.  Beyond that, its the alligator clip heat sink trick again.

Does anyone have an answer as to whether this stuff is actually suitable for electrical usage? Going by the label description, I'm saying it isn't.

I'd have to say stay away from this or any solder system that warns against elec use.  The flux is corrosive and will attack the wiring, besides rosen core solder(The type recomended for elec.)is some of the easiest to use.
