Mission Models Micro Chisel
Posted by Lundergaard on Thursday, January 7, 2010 5:03 PM

Anyone got a lead on the Mission Models Micro Chisel?  I had an order for one at hobbymasters.com that was backordered for 8 months!  I finally just canceled the order.  MM just kept telling them they would have them in a month or so... on and on...  has anyone successfully put one of their 2mm tips into another handle?  I see the chisel tip is available.

thanks

Afraid i can't help you, but i have been trying to get hold of it and the etch mate for months. My usually source for most things, Hannants, hasn't had any in for ages.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

I recommend The Small Shop.

As far as those small chisels, look to a store that carries wood carving chisels. Bird carvers use the same fine chisels we modelers use. You'll have a good selection to better find one that fits comfortably in your hand. Like shoes, if it doesn't fit you can't expect good performance out of them.

Hi fellas,

I am from the UK and have just joined this site.I noticed this thread and have also ordered one of these micro chisels myself from Mission Models and have been waiting for it to arrive for about two months now. When I asked for a delivery date I was told that the chisel would be shipped soon but no date given, this was about three weeks ago.

Reading these comments I'm inclined to cancel my order now as there is obviously a major stock problem.

Thanks for the info

Oddly enough, I finally found an Etch Mate else where for a better price because Mission Models never fulfilled my order.  They also have NEVER refunded my money after I had to cancel either, even after several phone calls and emails to try to get my money back.  Great product but, lousy customer service and service in general.  Find their products any place other than directly from them or run the risk of them keeping your money and never sending you your order.
