Sorry about that.  I missed your reply.  I honestly don't know why I need these holes when the manufacturer could have done it themselves.  The holes are in different places along the F16.  A couple in the tail section and a couple in the front of the plane.  Looks like small pieces get attached via those holes.

If pieces need to be installed in those areas then just stick the tip of an X-acto blade in there and ream it out and glue the piece in. Don't waste money on bits you don't need because of the instructions!

Get a set of #61-80 drill bits and you are set. Don't waste your money on metric sizes.

Problem solved.  It never dawned on me to actually go to Tamiya website.  Guess what they sell?  All the drill bits I need to build their model.

You didn't reply so I will ask again........What holes need to be drilled in the kit that you would need metric bits?

ok, I found what you had purchased on micromark.  And it would be great except they go in .5mm increments and one of my holes has to be 1.2mm.  I might buy it anyway 'cause it meets the requirements for all of the other holes.  Thanx!

Actually, I found the bits in the Micro-Mark catalog.  I went to the website and ordered the catalog.

In answer to your question about posting links; I am embarassed to say, I don't know how to do that. Answering a post is the extent of my computer know-how  Tongue Tied

I hope you can find them!!

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the info.  I went to micromark's site and looked at their page for "Drill & Pin Vise" and didn't see the bits you mentioned.  Could you post the a link to that page?

Good Day!!!

The drill bits you are looking for can be purchased from Micro- Mark.  $11.65  will get you a set of 10 bits ranging in size from .5mm to 5mm  in .5mm increments.  Big Smile

Looking for metric pin vise bits

I'm putting together a 1/48 Tamiya F16 and the directions require various sized holes to drilled using a pin vise.  I bought a pin vise but it cam with no bits.  All of the bits I've seen online are measured in something other than metric (which is what the F16 directions are calling for).  Does anyone know where I can get a set of metric bits online?  Thanx!
