Chopper II
Posted by I make stuff on Monday, April 19, 2010 11:57 AM

I have read a few building reference books that mention this.  It's like a mitre box for teeny parts, more of a chop arrangement than a saw. It appears to be out of production.  Does anyone know where I can find on in stock?  Spru Brothers, whom I have found to be very honest in terms of what they have in stock, lists it as sold out, although they do have other versions.  The III version is longer, and for multiple setups, which I do not need.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks so much,

Bill

I have the original Chopper. Wonderful tool if you are into scratchbuilding or doing something that requires repeated cuts on various types of extruded or flat styrene stock. If you get one, I suggest you also get their Tru-Sander as well.

In a pinch you can use a small paper cutter too., which are available at most office supply stores. Some even have lasers to guide the cut.

I've got the original Chopper, also. It's one of those things where I'll use it quite a bit, then it will sit untouched for months. Great tool! I even made and attached a paper ruler to it to make easier the task of setting the stop.
