Testors Pink Label Cement
Posted by newbe on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 4:46 PM

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew of where you can still get this cement. I have done several internet searches but with no luck. or if there are any simular products out there.

I live in the UK so all of the stores in the USA will not ship glues or paints, but others will

Thanks in advance for the help/advice

First off, welcome to the forums. secondly, what are the properties of the glue that you like?

I used Testor liquid cement (one with pink label) for more than two years but recently I switched to Tamiya Extra Thin Cement and I am starting to like it very much for two reasons...

1. No more spills!  Testor's base is so thin... spilled twice in a year and it was messy especially when it was full... Bang Head  It is impossible to spill Tamiya because of its wider square base unless you knock it off real good.

2. Tamiya brush is much thinner and finer than Testor so it was easier to apply small amount of glue.  Also its handle is easier to hold.

So if you are having hard times locating Testor... it won't hurt to check if you can locate Tamiya Extra Thin

I think its a slow curing type, there is a video on this site showing individual tank track links being glued together left for some 10 min, then put on to the wheels and then sags put into the tracks.you then leave it to cure. (using testors pink label cement)

http://www.finescale.com/en/Videos/How%20To/2010/01/Assembling%20individual-link%20tank%20tracks.aspx

I have Tamiya extra thin, but think it would dry to quickly to allow you to move the track around like this,

Thanks again for your help

Do you mean this one: http://www.testors.com/product/136633/3502X/_/Liquid_Cement_for_Plastic

Why not order it from Testors?

I have found that model zone sell it (though it's not listed on there web site)

Thanks anyway

Sorry about that.  I missed the "UK" part in the first post.  I'm glad you found a supplier though.

I like this cement but have reciently started using the touch & flow aplicator and find testors cement clogges it up.The label staes Methyl Ethykl Ketone and Acetates which are plastic probably use as a slght thickening agent. Just FYI
