Air Compressor for Airbrush

Thanks to all who replied to my query.  I had thought that I could use a wood working compressor for an airbrush, but I wasn't sure.  I can place the compressor in a spot in my woodworking shop and run an airline to my modeling shop such that the noise whilst airbrushing won't be a problem.

Any thoughts on specific water filters and pressure regulators would be welcome.

I should have added that the compressor is <bleep> loud! I can barely hear it because it is far removed from where I sit.

Drives the neighbors crazy I bet. Like their hot tub pump drives me crazy!!

I use a little pancake compressor with a separate dryer/filter and regulator added.  Terribly noisy!  I have a radio (with headphone jack) near my workbench, so I keep a pair of those large old-style headphones that cover the whole ear near my workbench. Plug those in and listen to radio when I airbrush.

Absolutely. The airbrush doesn't really care what supplies the air, as long as it is dry and throttled down to a working pressure. Running 100 PSI is not recommended! Get a second regulator for use in your spray booth. I just run a hose to my spray booth, and can barely hear the compressor.

I use a three gallon pancake, which works fine for airbrushing, but runs out of air for woodworking. See if you can finagle a five gallon.
