Gap Filler super glue

Gel type super glues are what is oftn called "gap fillers". I have used either the generic stuff that you can buy at the gorcery or hardware store, or hobby types of gel super glues for identical results.

When you experiment with the super glue...just make sure you don't let it cure too long or you will have to use a file to sand it as it gets really hard when it is fully cured.

Don't wait longer than 2 hours or you will have a difficult time sanding.

I like "Zap-A-Gap", the medium thickness that comes in the bottle with the green label. The trick is to fill the gap with zero overlap on the surfaces.  If you glue the parts together with the stuff, this should happen naturally.  You may be left with a shallow gap that you can easily cover with a thin putty like Valleo or Mr. Surfacer.

I use Locktite brand gel CA.  I find the bottle very handy to use, and it is good CA glue.  Personally I find the stuff easier to sand or file when it is very hard, so I let it set for several hours before trying to sand or file it.

Worked on the gaps last night.  I am finding that it is working pretty good.  It still had not completely dried and where I had used a toothpick to level it out while it was stilld rying now looks terrible.  Luckily it is under an overhang.  Once it is completely dried, I will sand it down, even if it takes some work.  Thank you again everyoen for the help and advice.
