Hobby tray?
Posted by mitsdude on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 3:18 AM

I sometimes like to relax and watch TV or a movie with the family while modeling.

I was at Walmart last week and in the clearance section I found a rectangular 18in x 14in  with 2 in sloped sides melamine food serving tray.

Its big and sturdy enough that I can get model parts and tools/supplies and confine them to an area where they will not be lost, damaged, etc. Any spills or sanding dust are confined to the tray which can easily be cleaned.

The worst part is that it has an AWFUL fish design on it!

The best part is it was $2!!!

They also had a smaller one made of that soft plastic you find in cheap cups, bowls, plates, etc. I believe I will return and pick up one of these too. It was even cheaper at $1.

Sounds like a good idea. If you have room alongside (or on a nearby desk) you can pick up one of those office drawer organisers for your tools too (store this in the tray when not in use).

Easily rectified with an airbrush and a little paint. Big Smile
