REALLY liked this solution until summer hit. And then it became a magnet for spiderwebs.

Now I'm keeping Gunze paints here:

And Tamiya in this beauty. $30 at Home Depot, and with ball-bearing drawers to boot!

Wow, that Husky box is pretty tough for sure! And nobody likes Spiders either. Where'd you score the white wire racks?

Thinking of rebuilding mine. Its worked well, but it takes up alot of room.

The wire racks are from the Container Store. Wife uses them in the pantry, and we snagged, oh, double that at one of their big sales. Work decently...best for the tall/narrow paints like Alclad and Vallejo.

My model desk sits at corner windows, So another idea is to do suction cup shelving from the shower section at Home Depot etc. I'll work on some more plans tonight.

While were on the topic, can anyone tell me the exact dimensions of a tamiya paint pot?

This works for now, but considering a rebuild/rejig.

I just made a frame for these,,,,,,,they are die cast car collectors boxes, Hot Wheels, etc

I had a "thimble display unit",,,,that is really just a 3 ft by 3ft box only 2' deep, with multiple shelves on it,,,,,,but, it required wall space, and that is too dear around here

I need to grab one of those mini "war wagons" that Doogs has. Couple of Comp Cams and a JEGS sticker and it'll fit right in with the auto garge theme of my "office"

Since i can only get Tamiya paints here. I roughed up a design that will hold 100 pots. Only problem is balance. Fixing to the wall isnt an option where i am. But it might be the way to go with this.

Ok guys this is what I decided to do. It should hold 12 .25 testors, 9 Model Masters, or 7 Tamiya's per shelf.

Got a 2x4x.25 sheet of plywood and .25" dowel.

Cut two 6"x12.5", two 6"x6", and four 2"x12".

I staggered two inch "staircase" cuts down the 6x6. and assembled.

I learned to not worry with wood glue. Use a small drill for the pilot holes for the finishing nails, and used caulk for the seams.

I have it downstaris curing from the fist coat of rattle can white.

Assembled pics to come. 

Aaaand here it is.

Going to build two more as Ill need another one just for German paints.

 I think I have 7 bucks in material as I already had the tools and paint,and probably four hours total time.

Also there is not enough room for Tamiya. Doesnt have a very big foot print on my cheapie Sauder build desk (not pictured) either.

Still would like to incorporate storage. I think i can use some eyebolts (screws?) to slide an arm of my differnt snips. THink this is gonna be my Gen 1.

Being of a modular design, you can either put them all next to each other, or in different places in the shop,,,,,,,you should be able to just tweak your dimensions a bit, to make one or more of those for your other paint jar sizes

I use two step-style organizers from Target. They are about $12 each and expand to 24 wide.

I like those, Tim! Will have to hit up the local Target this weekend!

I had just re-organized it after getting a second organizer and a bunch of AK Interactive stuff. It sure doesn't look that way now.

I found some similar ones at Walmart. They dont appear to be as nice as the Target ones. I believe they were like $5-$6.

Picked up a couple of the shelves Tim has from Target - nice! Thanks again for the heads up on those!

This first one is my desktop rack, for the little Testors bottles(just basic colors)

...and a larger one, for MM bottles, hung on the wall next to the bench.

Fermis, like others I'm sure I really stare at your photos (ok that does sound kinda creepy). I really like the rectangular tool keeper next to the paint too, consider that idea ripped off. The planes on the walls are cool too, how did you secure them? Maybe a eyebolt with a breadtie around the gear or something?

Rigidrider, what are those tall bottles on the top and bottom of your shelf? Its cool to see what products everybody uses.

All, I'm really impressed with all thats being chipped in, makes me wonder has there ever been a GB for organizational accessories?

Just a simple loop of fishing line wrapped around the tail, hung on a small nail...

Years ago, I found what I think is a wood silverware drawer organizer at a garage sale. I turned it sideways and nailed its bottom to the wall. I've seen them new at Target, I believe.

Target here only sells big furniture (Beds, lounge suits, wall units, tall boys etc)

Now that were in the new place i might be able to fix it to the bench itself. But i like your idea of the plank. I could use that. Thanks Jim.
