MonsterZero Does anybody have a picture of this "Bondo" product from automotive supply stores so I know what kind of tube I'm looking for? I did an image keyword such for "Bondo" and I got all kinds of cans and containers. I don't know which one I need.

Here's a pic of a tube of Bondo that I recently picked up at NAPA Auto parts:

Jester75 Have you tried the Bondo brand in a tube that you can get at a local parts store? Rather large tubes, fills well, sands good and the tube I have is probably 3+ years old and nowhere near dry.

^^THIS! Additionally, the bondo brand seems to dry a little slower on your subject, giving you a little more time to work it.

I used to use the green squadron putty and was lucky if i got a quarter of it. I switched to the white one and it seems better so far. Its still dries up at the top but doesn't seem to do it as much. Its already at the stage where i would be getting ready to throw the green one and its still going strong.
Jack, nice tip, i'll try that.
I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

I think the accumulation of putty in the cap dries up over time and compromises the seal. So on my current tube I have it stored in a zip-lock baggie (wrapped around first before closing to eliminate as much air as possible) to see if this will extend it's shelf life.

Jack
You can still make solidified Squadron usable by pouring acetone down the tube. After a few minutes, you can dig some liquified putty out. But this is an annoying problem.
I have had the same problem, so I don't buy it any more. Tamiya and Vallejo seem like good putties.
Gimme a pigfoot, and a bottle of beer...
I have 2 or 3 tubes, mostly full, completely dried up-solid. I wish this product had a longer shelf life so it doesn't go to waste like this.
Any ideas?
