One thing to watch out for in using catalyzed resins for filler.  Only use small amounts at a time. That stuff generates a lot of heat as it cures, and can melt or warp plastic if you use great gobs of it at a time, as in a major modification.

yeah, Bick, me too

I have over 3/4 of a tube of the 4.5 oz size left over from about 3 years ago,,,,,,,,,,mostly because I have either gotten better at the "styrene squeeze" method of fill fuselage seams,,,,,or have been on a lucky streak (my bet it the lucky streak)

3M (makes and sells Bondo products) has a number of spot/glazing products in the product line. One of which is the familiar red stuff many of us use, another is the 'professional' two part stuff and there are others like 'Ultimate' and 'Gold' - check HERE. I've only used the one part red paste so can't offer any comments on the two part product but don't think I need the extra mixing step.

It looks just like the regular Bondo packaging except it says "Professional" and has the smaller catalyst tube included.

Since I didn't open the package all the way I cannot tell what the contents of the tube look like. I plan to exchange it for the other as I do not want to mess with mixing the putty and catalyst. Also having to keep up with the little tube of catalyst.

Bondo Glazing & Spot Putty was introduced in the last Red, Black and White packaging in 2008, it was a red putty, that needed no catalysier

are you saying there is a Pro grade of that product that uses a hardener,,,,,,,,,or is that Bondo product something different?

As I remember it, the original Bondo was a catalysed polyester resin filler/putty.  Any spot or glazing putty would be a newer product, the catalysed stuff is the old bondo.

Recently I picked up a blister pack of Bondo at the local Auto Zone.

When I got home and began to open the package I noticed there was a small second tube inside.

I've since discovered I picked up "Professional" Bondo!

Is this new? I've not seen it before.
