I have used mine for only one project, a 1/8 scale pre-WW1 race car. It turned out very nice, and the PE set was the only decent way to make some of the parts.  But that was a major, major project, and I seek a way to get scratch PE parts for projects that are not that much of a project.  And, it would be nice to get some bigger pe pieces. I am working on a diorama that has a steel girdered bridge about seven inches long, where PE is the obvious technique, but I just don't get around to it because of all the work, and the fact that the MM set will not make parts that big.

Don,

I also have the Micromark set.  I was able to make some pretty detailed pieces with it.  It is a lot of work though.  Unfortunately, I am in an apartment at the moment, and don't have the space to set up the equipment or use it.  Can't wait til I can, as I have some projects awaiting my custom PE parts.

DIY Photoetch?

I have the DIY photoetch set that MicroMark sells.  However, it is a LOT of work to make a set.  I have also tried the toner transfer PE- the lines blur, and I cannot get get really small, sharp parts.

Since the process seems to be identical to etching of printed circuit boards, has anyone tried to work with a custom PE board maker to supply artwork and have that vendor make a PE set?
