Perfect Plastic Putty

I just wanted to pass along my thoughts on this product.  I am not sure how new it is, but I ran across it in a local hobby store and since I have had a mixed bag of results with some of the others I thought I would try it out.

Straight out of the tube I found it to dry so fast (I am Arizona so the humidity is almost nothing).  I found that it just was a dryish paste and wouldn't stick to much of anything when I was trying to trowel it in with toothpicks or a small spatula tool.  I then mixed it with some distilled water until it was more like a runny toothpaste and what a difference.  It went right into the seams.  It dried in about 20 minutes and you could sand it and it just came off as a dust.  It took multiple coats very well and some Mr. Surfacer over it and then some sanding and it was great.

For me, it will be my filler of choice.  Water clean up and there was no odor.

Yes it is good stuff, same with me, I usually need to thin it with some distilled water

That is good & helpful to know-I bought some online from Al's Hobby Shop (hard to find it elsewhere) and was planning on experimenting with its use

I'm very interested in the putty and many of the other products made by Deluxe Materials. Admittedly I haven't checked in the last few months but only a few of these products are available in the U.S.None of the places I normally order from have these products and paying shipping on just one, two, or even three items is not cost efficient. When I do  find them they are pretty expense, I assume because they are imported in relatively small quantities from England.

Horizon Hobby has it for a little over $7.00.

Several sources on Amazon.com also.

Yeah, I can find some of the products especially the putty. But no single source sells very many of the products I want to try. They either don't carry the item or its "out of stock". I'm not going to spend $$ for one item and then an additional $$ for shipping that's equal to or more than the $$ for the item itself. At this point I've not found anywhere I could order other items to justify the shipping.

I don't mean this to be a "rant", just an observation.
