Very cool idea, compact and easy to move around and adjust.  Greatl background music from the king of the mambo himself, the great Perez Prado!

Dear friends:

We finally have our crowfounding campaign running at

www.indiegogo.com/.../fixo-lends-you-a-hand

Its been a lot of work making the prototypes and refining all the details, but now we have all shorted out.

But we need your help to make it possible, so please spread the word.

We have some  items at a very reduced price for early adopters, so hurry up and pick up yours.

Thanks for all your support.

Not yet, we are launching an Indiegogo crow founding campaign before the 15th of June. I hope we can reach the money we need for the moulds. The regular price will be 25$ but we are planning to launch a reduced price for the people that supported us in forums, Facebook blogs etc.

Thanks

They look nice, flat and wide. It can be an extra option, in the future we are planing to add different tips for the arms.

Thanks again

I put this in a post on FB  (I hate FB Wink) but take a look at the Radio Shack flat clips, catalog #270-373.  They pretty strong and since they are flat no worries about damage.

Thanks very much for your coments.

Yes, it is a magnetic base with some extra weight. The balls move freely but stay in position and it has two telescopic arms with alligator clips. One of the clips is going to be protected with some rubber finish to avoid damaging the parts. Also the telescopic arm attaches with a M3 thread to the ball and we are planing to develop different arms for different purposes.

Thanks again and we´ll keep you informed on our progress.

It looks interesting.  I'm guessing it's a magnetic base (with the magnets also providing some stabilizing weight), and magnetically-attached wand with a magnetic ball at one end and telescoping clip at the other.

Hopefully you've paid careful attention to the clip.  I find most of the clips used in these 3rd hand thingys have a spring that's way too strong, easily-damaging the surface of plastic parts, and/or damaging finer small parts.  Thanks.

No comments at all on this?

I think it's a great idea.  Such a simple idea that will have near limitless positioning possibilities.  As I said on the FB page, considering how much money I've spent over the years on crap products, this one looks like it will have a place in my kit.

Dear modeler friends.

I like you to lend me a hand (never better said ;-) with this project: I am very excited about it because I think you´ll love it as much as I do but … it never hurts to have some feedback and hear what others have to say.

This product is the outcome of my own experience building models and electronic stuff and the annoyance I used to feel when handling small bits and pieces. But now, with fixÓ that´s water under the bridge: no more spared parts and contortionist postures to hold things in place. I explain all about it here (beware it´s work in progress!) and we´ll soon be launching an indiegogo campaign to ask your support
