i recently picked up a couple of old saw-set vises. they look like a cast iron brake that clamps to your work table. they go anywhere from 8 to 15 inches wide and are perfect for bending shapes from metal, heating plastic sheet to form curves etc. check out your local antique store , cost is 15 to 30 bucks and you will find a ton of uses for them....
