Now that is very creative! I used to sand back and forth or in circular motions. Now I understand why it came out uneven. Looks like I'm making some homemade sanding blocks soon.

Nicely done.

I have for years used similar "holders", but with PSA sandpaper sheets used on orbital sanders, eliminates the tape application step and makes them peel & stick.
