Something for the kit collector :
Posted by tankerbuilder on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 4:20 PM

I know this has been said before .

How much research is enough ? Well , Do you have an answer ? I do . There's never enough ! Here's what this is about .This applies mainly and specifically to the Model Airplane Collector / Builders out there though .

How many of you remember the early  , very early , days of plane modeling ? Do you remember Wood and Plastic kits , With the plastic being Acetate , Not Styrene ? I came across a book , Well actually a large magazine .

It's formatted like the books on the model companies and their histories .It's called Collecting -Vintage Plastic Model , Airplane Kits . It's written by Craig Kodera and has a printing date of 2015 ! It's put out by Specialty Press in North Branch , Minnesota .

You may already have it , but if you don't and really want to step back in time , it's a must have , for Model Airplane Kit Collectors/Builders .

I couldn't believe that someone took the time to research stuff that in mine and Don Stauffers lives we had probably forgotten half of  .    I would seriously wish that someone would do a really good book like this for Armor , Cars and Ships too  ! Me , Well , I just am to darned ornery and old to do it . And besides , I would rather share building skills with the readers here-of .

So you airplane modelers and Oh fiddlesticks , all of you , get a copy , it's darned good reading.   Model On - - - -Tanker - Builder
