Hi

Whats the difference between X20A and Lacquer Tamiya thinner? What should I know?

Thank you

Tamiya please produce these models: TOG II*, Bob Semple Tank, Renault FT-17, Black Prince, 1/350 HMS Vanguard and more British stuff! If anyone works Tamiya or can pass this on, please do so!

Well, one is Lacquer based, the other is acrylic.

However you can use the Lacquer stuff to thin Tamiya acrylic paints as well, but X-20A is only for the acrylic stuff. The Lacquer is also very good to clean anything from your airbrush.

Is the Tamiya lacquer a cellulose lacquer or an acrylic lacquer?

I'l second Tojo, in that you can use the lacquer thinner to thin Tamiya's acrylics, but it doesn't work that well in the other direction.  I have also used generic lacquer thinner, like brands I pick up at automotive supply stores, to thin Tamiya acrylics for airbrushing, though I generally use the X-20 on their acrylics.
