need help finding spray adhesive
Posted by zokissima on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 10:56 AM
I am in the process of creating some trees and camouflage netting for a dio, and am desperate to find a spray adhesive. I know that 3M makes one, but I don't know the exact brand name, or anything else.
Can anyone suggest anything?
Thanks!

3M Super 77, and there is a Super 90 too, but you don't need the extra strength of the 90 for modeling work. The stuff is great, couldn't make trees without it!

You should be able to find it in any good hardware store. By the way, Elmer's also makes a spray contact cement. It comes in a can that is aprox 1/2 the size of the 3M and is aprox 1/2 the price.

Thanks. Which is better? Which would you suggest? How long would each last me, since I assume I probably won't be using it that much.

I would go with the Super 77 as it is strong and you can buy it in a real big can for about the same price as smaller cans of the other types such as Spray Mount.

THanks. I'll check out a home depot today or tomorrow. Hopefully they'll have it.

I used 3M on a few things in '88 (carpet to fiberglass and wood to wood) and they're still stuck together. I haven't used Elmer's but they are a glue making company so it should be good too.

Here's a good link for making trees; http://www.fcsme.org/bcarl/how_to_make_scenic_express_supertrees.htm

3M is the brand name and Super 77 is the name of one of their products ,which happens to be a type of spray adhesive.
