I read a tutorial on polishing a car body once it has been painted. Once the rubbing compund has been applied then the next step is to apply the wax. Im not positive but I think it helps to give those really glossy finishes that are typically seen on automotive models.

I have never used the stuff, but I am guessing that it's something like a final coating after polishing. For a canopy, I suspect it would be far simpler to dip it in Future

It's used for waxing your finished paintjob for a high deep shine. Just like you would wax your real car. You can also use a good quality automotive paste wax, basically the same thing.

Possibly seen in this - tutorial.
