I feel your pain Mate. I've gone through 3 printers myself.

Just a tip from your Uncle Jay;

You can refill your own ink cartridges with the proper ink and a hypodermic needle for cheap. Just do some research on the proper ink for the specific printer.  I got mine on Ebay. The filler hole is usually covered by the tag stuck on the cartridge. I simply probe the tag with the hypo until it pushes through  then squirt the ink in.

 I'm finally retired. Now time I got, money I don't.

All printers are like that,the media is always expensive,after a few cartridge replacements,you basically spent more then the machine is worth I guess they want you to get new machines constantly.They all pretty much drink up ink,especially if you are printing photos or color.You can look up models on Amazon and read the reviews,one might be marginally better then another,but their pretty much the same.

Most efficient inkjet printer

  I’ve started playing around with making my own decals and I’m looking for some recommendations on new Inkjet printers. I currently have a Canon MG5220 Inkjet that uses 5 separate cartriges. Now this was marketed as being more efficient but it’s anything but.

  I dont even use it that much and I am constantly replacing cartridges at $15-$20 a pop. I’ve used the knock off brands from Ebay and Amazon but they are hit and miss at getting good ones.

  Can anyone recommend an efficient yet good quality printer that doesn’t cost a fortune to replace ink in? Also would like to keep it under a few hundred bucks.

  I am hoping with the advancements in technology there is something good out there now... Thanks, Stefan
