Kind of ironic that this is posted under the subject heading of "Tools"...

I don't post as much as I used to. Partly because of time available and partly because much of my previous posts are pretty much irrelevant after the PhotoBucket fiasco that left nothing but text and PB placeholders on the posts. All that time wasted posting those. I don't want to spend too much time on that for fear that not if, but when, the next hosting service will do the same. I do follow many threads of interest and post a few comments though. Is that called lurking? EJ

These forums get slow around this time of year because it is Summer.  Most folks are out doing stuff, building models or on vacation.  It will pick back up.  I am pretty sure we dont need to generate interest in the forums.

I would agree with previous posters.....Build something, Post it, Start a WIP thread (I have had 2 so far and only been a member since the beginning of this year).  Just keep building and it wont matter if there is interest on these forums.  Modeling will NEVER truly go away

I'd estimate your ban will hit in about 8 hours.

...Thank you for noticing. I have seen that these forums have had little in the way of new postings and then very little participation. I have wanted to generate interest and participation for the overall enjoyment of all...

If you want to generate interest, in a scale modeling forum, build a model and post it.

Exactly. Start a work in progress thread on some project of yours. If you feel really bold, organize and run a group build. Either one can generate plenty of new activity. But dredging up long dead threads, or posting simplistic questions, particularly on non modeling related and potentially contentious topics, will not garner much activity or support.

Granted, this place has been quite slow lately. Many old members do not post much at all, or have reduced their activity here. It is what it is. It usually passes.

But build something, post your work, invite folks to look and comment as you do so, and you will generate conversation here. After all, the primary reason that we are all here is our shared love of this hobby. It’s not for sports, politics, gardening, jobs, etc. Yes, there are other long running discussions: books, movies, science, etc. but they often have tangential relation to at least our favored modeling subjects.

I'm out then! Let this forum rot. No matter what good somebody wants to do, there are always people to tear it down.

Instead of being a cry-baby, build a @#$%^&! model and post it.

Here's a question you could ask everyone, too, to gin up interest....

"Well, while you're trying to answer that question, I'm going to slip out of these wet things, and into a dry martini!"

I didn't want to be a trouble causer and have been biting my tongue for months, if not longer on this.

I wonder how many controversial threads that have resulted in bans and member mass-exoduses have been started by the OP?

This has been so obvious for so long, no way it should have been allowed to go on, nor should it be allowed to continue.

Thanks for sounding off, Tojo, and for everyone else for chiming in.

Tojo I agree. Seems like trolling, although harmless.

And TB what you say was exactly my first thought.

well, it’s either that or he dredges up a bunch 16 year old threads like last week...

Hi;

Not to be facetious but look in the Mirror. It's right between your ears! The ones to make the job easier came from there by other folks out there. You employ them to enable your mind to see the beginning, middle and finish of a project. A pair of pliars or tweezers just lays there if you don't pick them up.

Just wondering, what are your thoughts on all the questions you have been asking. We have yet to hear your favorite manufacturer, whether you think AB will play again,if you use decal softener.Forum discussions are two way streets. Are you compiling info or just getting discussions started,if so why not also chip in? Want to contribute, but wondering why..

Best overall manufacturer of any type or scale? I thinkfor armor in35th scale i would choose Meng with Takom a close secong. Great molds, lots of parts, great subject but kind of costly. I aircraft I enjoy Great wall hobby for the same reasons as above.
