                        Yeah Spence pretty much sticks with this site because he's into his military vehicles and I'm usually over at scaleautomag.com for obvious reasons.
                        Why don't you take that tank off your buddy's hands? Get him to build a top to seal on. Perfecto! Cool [8D]

                        Go to any decent fish store and get some aquarium sealant. It's basically silicone that is designed to hold glass together and would hold those shelves in just fine.

                        I have a guy here in Nashville who makes my display cases. He has one that is about 24"x36"x8" that he built for someone who never picked it up. He said he'd take $25 for it just to get it out of his shop. Shipping might be rough though Smile [:)]

                        I understand. I'm going to have to look into that. All I have to do is ask my father.
                        Any history question, any time. HIs knowledge is vast, especially in history. He's a retired naval Commander. He loves to tell very intresting work, war and history stories. It's great. So I'll "Kate" by him. And I'll probably get what,when, who, where and why. My grandfather was also in the airforce in WW ll. Test Pilot.

                        I have a 60 gallon Hex that sprung a leak.
                        Cost to much to fix it, so what Ive done is turn it into a terrarium.
                        I'm working on a "Kate" and small hut to look like a Japanese landing strip in the Jungle, That will be the center piece of the whole thing.

                        Years ago I used an aquarium as a display case. The one I used was all glass with no metal or plastic at the corners allowing better visibility. I took a board and routed out a seam that the aquarium would set into, finished it with stain and poly and there was my display case, It looked real good and best of all it kept the dust and unwanted fingers off my modelBig Smile [:D]

                        Use Epoxy, or go to a pet supply store and get some fish tank adhesive/sealer. That will hold a glass shelf up. Be sure to have some 'shelf brackets' underneath though.

                        I was thinking to possibly make it have two layers by putting a shelf in there to display my autos. I've never built a diorama yet. But the fish tank would be a great setup. Anyone have any ideas what would be good to use or how to set up a shelf mid fish tank. What is good for adhesion on glass. I was thinking epoxy possibly? What do you think?

                        Great idea. I remember as a kid, a neighbor's older brother did a jungle diorama with some of the old Aurora "Prehistoric Scenes" kits in a huge fish tank, and I thought it was the coolest thing I ever saw.

                        My brother's hobby is aquariums. He's got them everywhere. His latest one and I'm not kidding is a home made 12 foot tank. Massive, but I love it.
                        Anyway my idea to use one of his old and small tank as a display case.
                        I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on this idea. Has anyone ever tried it? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
