Well, as I said in another post I am making the shift to Acrylics! Yeah Me! I started with the basic colors because of the Andrea Doria Paper model! The Tamiya colors are dead on to the colors they printed the thing in!
First thing I did with that purchase, I bought Tamiya thinner and Retarder to try. Well, Surprise, Surprise was my reaction. Easiest paint I ever used! And the brushes were way easier to clean. Now , I am NOT a stickler for exact colors on most things because I weather most of my ships anyway.
Those that I have that call for Kure or Sasebo shipyard I just fudge a little , because I just don't have that much IJN stuff. Most is American, British or German!There is a sprinkling of French in there, and I am painting what I saw. Not what some color chart says.
So I guess this is a capitulation to the inevitable, But, I am not sorry! This foray into a new world is turning out to be fun!
