I can also attest to the pace being one of the best hobby investments I have made. The extraction is excellent and if you wanted to you dont need a mask. No smell whatsoever. I still use a mask for peace of mind, especially if I am using 2k clear coats and metallic paints.

I'm a little late on this, but I have the Master Airbrush Extra Large with dual fan unit and LED lights and its fantastic. I've had it for a year without issue. Before I got it I was looking at what's available on the market and the Pace was an option but cost more. I'm curious to know if the extraction is any better than my unit.

 

 

I have that fold up spray booth that MicroMark sells, I use two butted together as they are designed to do so. I then feed the exhaust out a window where I have a board that goes in the opening with a dryer vent on it. I can open the window and close it against the board and seal out fumes. Then remove it when I'm done and close the window. Works great. I also added an ACfinity fan to the exhaust to assist in airflow. I can spray the really nasty stuff and you won't smell anything.

The pace may seem like alot up front, but it will pay for itself over the long haul. You can tell from the construction they are made with care and quality materials. With the cheap chinese booths you're just wasting your money imo.

I'd agree.  Heavy sheet metal construction, HVAC type blower, solid switches, etc.  If the blower ever burns out, it can be easily replaced, but doubt it will be needed.   It uses small furnace filters and moves a nice volume of air.

I wanted to be able to spray solvent based paints without a mask and not worry about stinking up the rest of the house.   It achieves my goals.

You guys are making a strong argument for the Pace.  I'm looking at those plastic booths that are 1/2 the price of the Pace.  I'm guessing the construction and the motor make the difference in price?

I too have a pace paint booth, the 24 inch super mini. Works really well and the included lights are a nice addition. 

I also have a Pace.  I decided on the 36", but it obviously takes up some significant space.

I've had the Pace 24" Super- Mini, mid-sized paint booth for about a dozen years now.  Never had any trouble with it.  I build large scale ships, 1/32 and 1/48 scale aircraft, and 1/35 scale armor and I've managed to get nearly all of them in the booth.

I have the 15x20 and it's been great for 1/48 aircraft - though the Osprey challenged it :)

I don't recall paying what they are asking - perhaps prices have gone up.  Then again, I've owned mine for 20 years or so.
