Specifically the ones with .05 tiips or similar we use to scribe panel lines.
I draw black highly detailed scenes with fine point artist black tip pens. generally .003 and .005 in size. Sometimes they quit on me in the middle of a project. These pens are not inexpensive so to revive them and the ones similar to panel line markers like Gundm markers I take some fine grit sandpaper 1000 and maybe 1500 grit and lightly run the tip vertically across the paper 2-4 times I think what happens is the ink dries and blocks the porous surface. This trick has saved me many bucks...
Sounds like a cool trick to try... One more that could be handy would be to dip the tip in come Gunze Mr. Colour Thinner. That worked for me once or twice and I guess the thinner dissolved the dried ink - maybe that will help somebody..

Believe it or Not!
This has happened to me with a Molotow pen too! I wash the tip off with Acetone and it works fine again. That's the large point version though. iIdon't know about the small tip one because mine got mis-placed. I accidentally grabbed the "Mister Thinner" yesterday. It worked too! Not as well though, It took more soaking!
I used isopropyl alcohol just the other day to bring a Sharpie back to life after I forgot to put the cap back on it. Just dipped the tip in and left it there for a couple of seconds. Writes like new again.

Ive done the alcohol thing too with the micro size pens and had no luck.....
I am having similar problems with a .003 and a .005 marker. They work for like 5 minutes and then just quit on me.
I have soaked the tips in alcohol and Mr Leveling Thinner. Still don't work. I haven't tried other solvents yet.
And these are brand new markers.
