i just cannot find fiberoptic wire to light one of my starships. Is there a place where I can purchase fiber optic wire on the internet? Also, what would you reccomend getting for a person using fiber optic wire for the first time?

http://www.plastruct.com

At the site, chose "Search/View/Order" on the left. Then go "Product Group" and select "lighting" You will see Fiber optics in that list. I bought some from them and there quality is good!.

Use a sharp razor blade to cut. You can bundle the ends and use electrical tape to put them onto a LED or just cut them into 3/4" to 1" segments to pick up the ambient lighting inside your starship. Just depends how bright you want them to be

I was having the exact same problem which was worsened by the fact that i live in the uk. The way i got round it tho was to buy a cheap fibre optic ball (£1.50 from a "pound shop"- go figure!). The optics are a pretty standard quality and work well (although they are of a set length).

I was thinking of using fiber optic on a star destroyer of mine but i wasn't sure how expensive it is to give my model light.
