Is there a way to attach clear parts temparily so they can be painted then taken off without leaving any residue?

I usually use a tiny dot of rubber cement or if I can find a way to stick it from the inside, Blue Tack. Rubber cement works pretty well but I have this fear of it eating acrylic paint (although it hasn't yet). Future also works pretty decently.

None of these are really great ways, but they are usable. If anyone has a better way I'd love to hear it to.

I have heard that some people have used two sided tape. I haven't tried it but I thought i would throw it out there for ya.

A word of caution of two sided tape, some of them have a very sticky adhesive.

Either way works. For tacking a canopy I usually just put a few dots around the canopy edge with a toothpick. Don't use too much if you paint with acrylic or it can pull it up. Usually not a big problem in that area since it's pretty easy to touch up.

I don't know how it will work with Vallejo paints, I've never used them. I try to stick with what I can find locally, which means Tamiya and Model Master. I always wind up halfway through painting something with zero paint and have to make a mad dash to the hobby store.

Jeff:
I'm still hooked on Micro LiquiTape, if you can find any. In tiny dots it will hold down the canopy temporarily. It leaves a little ball of residue that you can pluck off with tweezers, no sweat. Then use a larger amount for sticking clear parts permanently. It's the best adhesive I've found for this purpose.
