Posted by MikeV on Sunday, July 4, 2004 10:34 AM
Have you seen the sale that Micro-Mark has right now?
They have the despruing tweezers that were mentioned here a while back on sale right now for $5.95 instead of the regular $14.95! Big Smile [:D]
I think I am going to try some.

Mike,

I have their most recent catalog and myself was looking at the tweezers. I think I will get a set also. Thanks for the reminder.

Thanks for the heads up - been thinking about getting a set of those and now I probably will. BTW - town had its yearly Flea Market a couple of weeks ago - spent about 60 bucks and got a BUNCH of tools for my tool box and my hobby desk. Felt my best buy was 4 sets of #61 - #80 drill bits in plastic container - $4.95 ea. MicroMark sells the exact same set for 18.95 the last time I checked. Gotta love flea markets.

Quincy,

That is a great deal on those drill bit sets. Thumbs Up [tup]
Speaking of drill bits, I sure like this set I bought at Harbor Freight a few years back. There is every size you will ever need for modeling or home projects and the price is great! This set along with the micro-bits you have will cover everything. Wink [;)]

My local hardware store, back in the section where the Dremel tools and such are sold, sells the whole range of dental tools for about $1.25 apiece, regardless of which type it is. I need to find a cheap source of tiny drill bits, as I tend to break them with my hamfisted modeling ways. I need the smallest ones without having to buy a bunch of larger ones I have plenty of already.

Tom,

Micro-Mark sells the individual sizes in packs of 6.
The #80 drill bits are $7.50 for 6 of them.

I ordered some a few days back from Micro-Mark and they came today.
I really like them, especially for smaller parts. They are bigger than I expected but seem good so far. Thumbs Up [tup]

I need to get me a couple of these. It is even cheaper than the pair of snips I bought at Radio Shack a while back. I did just find on radio shack that they have what they call nippy cutters for 4.99. Looks a lot like the one I bought and it can get into tight spots easy.

Mike,

I got my "Squeezers" yesterday and tried them for the first time todayCool [8D] What a neat little toolTongue [:P] It cuts so close that cleanup is a minimum, the chance of damaging a part is minimized and the parts tend not to fly awayApprove [^] I am glad you posted this thread. ThanksBig Smile [:D]
