Glad to hear that Chris.

We were at Wal-Mart earlier today and I saw two different brands of it.

Chris, let us know how it works for you. I've tried a couple of different brands & still not sure I like the stuff.

hi rick, i just used silly putty last night on a 109 to mask the upper fuselage and wing splinter camo. the only thing with silly putty, you can't leave it masked over night as gravitational pull slowly makes it loose its original shape and it kinda slithers off the kit like very thick water!!! if you'll notice, you can wad silly putty up and put it back in the egg and when you retrieve it the next day, it has conformed to the shape of the egg!!LOL. so, the tak should stay in place hopefully!! the splinter camo turned out great though, i just had to hurry during the masking and get the paint on before the silly putty crawled off the kit!!LOL. anyway, i'll be posting the finished kits in a couple of days. they're nothing special as far as detail goes.

Dubix88, blue tak is nonexistant here in my neck of the woods, but they have several similar products to choose from. it is used in our hobby mostly for a soft mask for camo jobs and such. you roll it up in a "cord" about the size of a shoe string, and stick it to your subject following the camo demarcation line. then, just mask off the rest of the "field" with masking tape. the rounded mask allows for a really tight, realistic demarcation line between colors on a camo job. later.
