single speed motor tools
Posted by Texgunner on Monday, October 18, 2004 3:52 PM
Does anyone know of a convenient source for a single-speed motor-tool; it doesn't have to be a Dremel? I want to use a rheostat with one and I've had a hard time locating one. Why do all the manufacturers think a multi-speed 'tool is all we modelers need? Thanks for any help/advice/suggestions, Gary.

I think the reason for the multi-speed tools is that they can be used in a variety of hobbies/materials that need different speeds.

Which in turn also reduces the amount of different tools a manufacturer has to offer and produce, stock, etc.

Personally, I would not go back to a single-speed or fixed multi-speed model.
