remove excess glue?

sorry took abit long to answer this post...

Ares: The glue is on the plastic surface on the side of the model. The print isnt exactly a big blob of glue. If i run my finger over it i cant barely feel the print imprints or the glue. I may try what u suggested, a finish sand paper and sand it flat. Thanks for ur reply.

qmiester: Yeah thanks for that one, i was going to maybe try the putty or a filler of somekind and sand that. Like i say its not a large amount, but it will be noticed when i airbrush it.

The rest of the helo is perfect apart from this glue, Grrr...i suppose i only got this model so me and my son can experiment with the airbrush, but now its built it will look really cool when finished, just like albymoores here http://www.finescale.com/fsm/community/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=44634

Over the years, I've managed to glue one or more of my fingers to a model (especially since I started using liquid cement - that stuff will find some unusual routes to where your fingers are located). When that happens I:

A. mouth some really foul deprecations upon myself and the glue
B. Let the glue get completly dry - trying to wipe it off will just compound the problem
C. When glue is dry, sand the ridges formed down level with surface using 400 or 600 sand paper.
E. Lay a very thin layer of putty over the depressions and let dry
F. Again sand with very fine sandpaper
G. Rescribe any lost detail
H. Promise myself I will never do that again - - - - - (hahahaha)

what surface is it on? if its a flat surface like the exterior; just sand it. ; shoudlnt lose too much material that itd be noticable. hopefully its just raise glue rather than imprinted finger prints.

if it is imprinted; putty may be nescessary. than prime it a few times and sand untill its smooth and invisible.

Ahhhh crapp....lol. Ok Musiccity, thanks mate. I thought about painting over it with a grey enamel then airspray it, but that wont work will it, not from what ur saying....Ahh well back to the dam model shop tomorrow for putty or a filler of some kind...

It's molded into the plastic now. Only way I know is to putty it (or whatever you prefer to use instead of putty) and sand it down smooth. Mr Surfacer should work well for something like that.
