Thanks Bill. Actually she is very patient. I can have as many hours of modelling time in exchange for a cup of Tim Horton's Tea and a trip out to locate a new china teacup for her collection. The difference between her hobby and mine is hers come prepainted and are used regularly mine have to be worked on before they get to the display case.

Although the tradeoff is equal spending. I love when she finds one of those "rare" cups....means a nice new shiny bit is going on the bench. That's how I got my etchmate last weekend. One Royal Albert "Imari" pattern cup $65.00 time spent with the wife....Trip to the LHS = Priceless.

So yes she is very patient.

Looking forward to learning more about this. I got an honest-to-goodness spray both earlier this year, but I think it still supposedly relies upon using dryer hose to vent elsewhere. Frankly, I think that rather limits one as to where one can use the booth... though it's STILL an improvement over the bastardized cardboard box I was using before....

Hello again;

I forgot to mention about the reference piles. Pic one the Blue Binders FSM series complete from Test Issue to Present. The Black Binders Military Modeler/Scale Modeler Complete Series 1974-1998. The upper two shelves are misc. references from Osprey, Argus, Almark, Kalmbach, and some other out of print references. Pic 2 is the works in progress Airfix/The New Airfix Magazine - almost complete series, Tamiya Modelling Int'l - Complete series, Military Modelling 1971 - Present few mssing issues, Military in Scale - Almost Complete. AFV News almost complete 1966 - 2000 so far.

That's about all for now.

I'm really interested in that filter for your spray both. I take it that with this device you don't need to do the "dryer-hose-out-the-window" venting?

Hello All:

Welcome to some pics of my modelling workshop. It is a work in progress so please be kind. My wife (Architect) is designing all the floor plans for the basement of our new place. I couldn't wait to unpack and get something of a shop set up until the plans are finished and I actually have some walls to enclose my little hideaway.

The best part about my shop is most of the kit was free.

Yes that's right friends and neighbours I said free. i picked up my 6' X 3' Hard Rock Maple Topped workbench and the chair in Toronto prior to them going into a dumpster. The second bench also was rescued from a dumpster toss along with seven of its cousins in Cambridge. The lighting was picked up similarly along the way.

Tonight I just added my "conversion" spraybooth to the bench. I scrounged two fume extraction systems from a company that was doing some Fall cleaning. Each NEDERMAN unit apparently retail cost them $2500.00 my cost was a cup of Tim Horton's coffee and pick up. The "booth" itself is (get this) an IKEA bedside table with the center drawer removed and a $3.00 heat duct cut into the back and hooked to the Nederman. Total time from start to finish about 5 hours give or take with pick up and return to home and a stop at the Home Depot. Thanks to bgrigg for his advice prior to the build. Yes Bill I have a spraybooth now! Tongue [:P]
