I always find this issue funny, especially the fridge recommendation. Other than the "odorless" types I have never had a bottle of CA go bad on my bench. Most of the CA I use is ZAP in the .5 ounce bottle. Keeping it tightly capped and making sure you knock the hardened goobers of CA off the sealing surfaces goes a long way towards keeping it good.

Six years ago I opened a bottle of the same ZAP and put it in my "extra glue and solvent" storage unit drawer (sort of dark and room temperature). Every month or so since then I have pulled that bottle out, used a bit and put it back. Finally last month the CA was "bad" meaning it had started to thicken and it's set time had increased to a minute or so. Guess I should have refrigerated it eh?

Using the fridge or buying smaller ones are both fine but either way I'd put'em in the fridge anyway.

Mate,
I never bother putting my superglue in the fridge - I have an easy way of making my superglue last - I only buy little tubes of the stuff.
I almost always have one open, and at least two unopened as spares.  That way, if the glue does happen to "go off" and solidify, I only lose a small amount.
The little bottles are cheap, they work just as well as the more expensive bottles (for MY needs, anyway), and seem to last for weeks after opening - long enough to end up using the contents fully before they go off.
Good luck!

Cheers, LeeTree

A tip from a fellow named Hank Gruben that was published fairly recently in FSM:

"A simple solution is to use Testor gluing tips to create a double-air chamber on the bottle top that prevents the glue from drying out. They're tube glue tips, but they fit most super glue bottles...Eventually [they] may need to be replaced because they clog, but it's cheaper and easier than replacing an entire bottle of glue."

I've begun doing this a short while back and it seems to work; I definitely am having less trouble with the super glue bottle clogging!

plus when you are storing them make sure it is upright.. the nozzle must be sticking up, and the glue staying away from the tip.

Storing super glues

Hi Everyone,
Would like to know how to store opened bottles of super glue to keep them fresh? Would I keep them in the fridge?

Thank you all very much,
