                        A minimill, full size drill press, high speed drill press with X-Y table, a good resistance soldering unit, CNC setups for the mill and my current lathe, gravers and good collets with closer for the lathe, a Meiji .7-5 stereo zoom microscope with 10X and 20X oculars, LER adapter, polarizer, heavy boom stand and a fiberoptic ring light.

                        I just finished my homemade spraybooth using a kitchen hood. This picture doesn't include the furnace filter I'm using.



                        It's tall enough to work at standing and still comfortable for sitting at. I don't have a basement or garage I can use. I keep this on my covered deck for the nice months and in the winter I will be able to bring it into the kitchen when I want to paint. The venting is designed so that I can feed it out the window in the kitchen.

                        A friend passed down the Badger 150 airbrush, hose and compressor. I had the wood on hand, leftovers from other projects and the plywood are skid tops I get from work. I bought a new hood and the electrical, and have also added lexan doors. Total cost of bought parts including taxes is just over $100 CDN. More pics are viewable at

                        hey guys,
                        Lots of you want a spraybooth. Try to find a discarded range hood. Maybe at a surpluss warehouse for homebuilders or Lowes or Hoime depot. Maybe ya'll could find a home remodeling project and just ask the contractor if there will be any kitchen parts to salvage. I'll tell you, there are plenty on the Gulf Coast where we get hit by a Cat. 4 hurricane about every 6 months. Even a bathroom vent fan could be used. They are cheap. the cheapest new hood i've seen is about $30 and bathrrom vent fan @ $15. Then, just lay a large cardboard box on it's side and attach the fan to the back. Next, attach a flexable vent ductpipe to the fan and rout it to the nearest window. you can open the window just a bit only when you need to spray. Range hood ductpiie and bath vent ductpipecan be found at the same places as the fans. Of course this sounds easy to me cause i'mm around this stuff all day. Good luck

                        problally a spraybooth too, but with a top of the line airbrush that I don't have. With that stuff my modeling could prefect. Also another thing is money. That my sound greedy but unless if you ever want to build a really good model you need money

                        Small disc sander with compound miter platform (with no belt sander on the other side). I know... not a very hard item to get since Micromark and Harbor Freight both sell 'em. I just have to get around to actually buying one.

                        I wish I had just gotten into Foredom tools instead of Dremel. I wouldn't be using anything Dremel makes if I had just gone the Foredom route instead. I'll get around to that too.

                        A while back I got the excellent variable speed drillpress from Micro-Mark and recently I add a Delta table top bandsaw to my model building tool kit. I still need to buy or build a spray booth.

                        My back ordered Clisby mill arrived yesterday and I couldn't be happier with it and the lathe! Big Smile [:D] I've been turning chunks of plexiglass on the lathe and it is doing a great job. I think a good mini drill press is the next thing I'll be ordering. Wink [;)]

                        Well, you're asking me to totally lose touch with reality, so here it is: A combination whisper quiet aircompressor and computer. The spraybooth would have a flip-up flat panel monitor about 24 inches wide. The keyboard would be built into the the table so I could pull it out and either read the forum or play Diablo 2.

                        The other thing would be a Smart Mask (tm). I would paint it on to a canopy and it would NOT cover the window frames.

                        For those of you who wish to have a spray both I have an idea for you. I built one from an old stove vent hood w/ exhaust fan. The booth itself was made from a cardboard box. Just a thought.

                        I would like an air conditioned shop. I currently have a shop in the garage. I gets real hot in Arizona in the summer. Makes it very difficult to do anything anywhere here in the summer. (winter is a different story)

                        Got the spray both and both single and double action airbrushes - now I lust after the Waldron punches and photo- etch bending tool.
