Punch for copper
Posted by benchman on Tuesday, August 1, 2006 1:00 PM

Looking for a punch to make about 1.5mm buttons out of copper. I'm posting this for a friend....so I don't know the gauge of copper he's using.....certainly can't be very thick.

I'm going to suggest plastic rivets to him....but he mght be set on copper.

Thanks,

Benchman

A company that makes hold and fold tools is just releasing a metal punch tool "the nutter". It may be what your friend is looking for. Click here for the site. Warning: it may be expensive.

On the old end of things, the standard punch and die sets will punch thin ( up to .005) metal. Although I think it would dull them after a while. I thinkConfused [%-)] Roll models is taking over the waldron line (no quotes on that, please).

Edit: I should have looked at the site first. It's not on there yet. I saw a pre-production model in the spring and they were to be out by now. I will post it, if I find a site that has it.

Take this plastic and model it!

Ok. Found one. If you go to 'ordering' on the first site, you will see that they are just about to sell. Go here to see one on their euro site.
