Panther Books
Posted by Baronvonboot on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 10:07 PM

I am looking for books on the Panther tank for a future project of mine . I am looking to find out what the parts of the tank look like so i can scratchbuild some parts . Like the turret ring and ect.  So far what i have just has mainly pictures of the tank and a few close ups . Any ideas on such a book that might be out there ? Or if you know of any links on the web that will be helpful as well .

Panther D will be my subject since the Dragon kit seems to be the best detailed out there .

I would recommend Panzer Tracts 5-1 Panther Ausf. D

I recently reviewed that book if you're interested in finding out more.  I think this is exactly what you need. Just click here

Hi, the book I have that is probably what you want is " Germany's Panther Tank - The quest for combat supremacy" it covers the developement, modifications, rare variants characteristics and combat accounts. It is written by Thomas L Jentz and published by Schiffer. Hope this helps you out. Cheers

Germany's Panther Tank the Quest for Combat Supremacy: Development - Modifications - Rare Variants - Characteristics - Combat Accounts (Schiffer Military/Aviation History) is a great book also, which I have in my reference library.  There are a few corrections and additional information in the Panzer Tracts books which supplements the earlier work very well.
