The best $9 bucks you'll ever spend on a magazine that is not only a modeling magazine but a great reference resource as well.

Thanks for the heads up, I appreciate it.  My project is actually a scale R/C model with a 112" wingspan.  Unfortunately, it's going on the back burner for a while due to lack of space for it as it grows.  However, I'm still gathering information for accuracy when the time comes.

Aerospace Modeler is back in business and thier volumn #6 Spring 2007 has a great build on a 1/72 AF Guardian and has photos of Guardians in service and a walkaround. You can contact them at www.aerospacemodeler.com

Are you building the Collect-aire model? If so please keep me informed of the build because it is my next build.

Grumman Guardian Info Needed
Posted by Tango Juliet on Friday, June 19, 2009 9:29 AM
Hello all.  I'm trying to gather all the info I can find for an upcoming project, the Grumman AF-2S Guardian.  The Guardian was a submarine hunter (AF-2W)/killer (AF-2S) in the USN from 1950-56.  Due in part to it's short service life, there is little information available.  After it's time in the service, several were purchased and converted to work as firefighters.  Two aircraft that I know of exist today, one in AZ, a former firefighter, and the other at the US Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, FL (also used to be a firefighter).  If anyone has any information at all on the Naval version of this aircraft, or knows someone who knows someone who might have flown or worked on one, please let me know.  Thank you.
