As part of a local reenactment groups annual Bivouac & Barracks show , History of Flight, out of Marathon ,FL usually brings in thier T-6 and a very nice Stearman . This year was very different.
Living close to our local airport where the event is held, I heard an aircraft take off that sounded a bit heavier than the usual Cessnas or even a Texan. As I headed for the door to see what I might see , my daughter comes running in yelling "Daddy, come here quick!".
Flying over the house was a B-25 Mitchell . Very cool! My girl knows warbird noise.
A little later , We again heard the Mitchell , this time on approach for landing . "Emma, lets go check it out." I said. Got there as the props were winding down. We got to walk around for a closer look . You could still feel the heat radiating off the engines as you walked by.
Next day we went out for another look and tour the inside off this beautiful old warbird. The only flying H model Mitchell today . Hope you guys enjoy the pics.
Must have been quite an experiance witnessing these birds in action. For the crews and the enemy. BOOM!!
