The Official
Monogram U.S. Navy and Marine Corps Aircraft Color Guide, Vol 2:
1940-1949 Pages 15—18. It's pricey, but perhaps a local library or a modeler friend close by has it.
The section includes nine photographs and 1 patent sketch. The specific colors are not listed, but described in the text. The undersides were painted in pairs of light and brilliant colors, such as bright blue and white. Upper surfaces were darker colors, such as deep blue and dark gray. The sides were intermediate, as in neutral shades of blue and gray.
Other colors suggested for further investigation were Gray, Silver Gray, Blue and Green.
The camouflage schemes were tested on two Brewster F2A-2's, two Northrop BT-1's, two Vought SB2U-1's, two Douglas TBD-1's, and one Vought O3U-3.
