MU-2 3-views needed
Posted by Planecrazy200 on Thursday, December 9, 2010 1:58 PM

Does anyone have or know where I can find a good 3-view that includes fuse stations, wing / stab root and tip airfoils and nacelle stations? I have the two that are for sale from Scale model research / Bob Banka. Thanks for any help in advance.

Did you try a google image search?  I sometimes find good three-views there, but it is hit and miss.  You've already tried the best source.

Problem is- that is not a real popular modeling subject.

Thanks for the new avenue Don. I just checked the Google Image search to no avail. Only two and they are similar to what I have. Some sites give the NACA airfoils and measurements but very hard to find cross sections. I emailed Mitsubishi heavy industries and they never  sent a return email. I also build large R/C planes and that is what I am using the 3-views for. I have the Fujimi kit in 1/72 and will have to use that along with the 3-views and a cad program to design the beast. It will have a span of 100 to 120 inches ( dont know exactly) until I scale her down ( or up from the kit) from the actual measurements to 1/4 or 1/5 scale. Because of the cowls I will be using electric motors to power her although if I go 1/3 scale I think a pair of turbo props from jet hanger hobbies will fit. That would be an additional $4500 per engine but be scale! A 2 to 3 year project from board to maiden flight. I started building plastics at 7 years old and they go hand in hand with my R/C planes. I pull a lot of info from the kits to build my planes and love to do the plastic build first. If there isnt a plastic I will not build the R/C! Thanks again for your help, Mike

For RC, there is a guy, Bob somebody, who sells 3 views and photo packages.  Advertises in both RC mags and I  think FSM.  The sets are a bit pricey, but considering the price of scale RC models it is okay.  Don't know if he has that subject- I have his catalog somewhere on my computer but just cannot find it now.
