Mark, I don't know if this will help or not, but I served in the Marines over in 'Nam back in '67 & '8. I was not a tanker but we were around them a lot. The platoon of tanks we were with most often had names on the searchlight covers. Always in USMC yellow. "My gal Sal"," The Phantom", "King Rat", "F*ck It", were four that I remember well. Saw a lot of action! One from another unit was "Psychotic Reaction", that had it's name on the main gun tube. We were around an Army unit of tanks in '68 for short while, and though I don't remember any specific names, They were all painted the same style and on the sides of their turrets. Nice block letters in a red, white, blue scheme. Looked very sharp! I don't remember a single track while there that didn't have an "STP" sticker on it some where or other! Would love to see a decal set for 'Nam tracks with names and so on. Don't forget the Ontos! I am very sorry to say, I have no photo proof of the above, only memories, We did have an Ontos with us that was named "Devils 3" which I do have a photo of. Luck with your project!
