Jet & Prop Magazine 3/95
Posted by plasticjunkie on Sunday, July 5, 2015 3:39 PM

I have been searching the internet for additional pictures and info on "Black 3", FW 190F-8 flown by Eugen Lorcher  of 5./SG 2 with negative results. This aircraft is featured in EagleCals sheet #91 but has limited info. It states the reference source was Jet & Prop Magazine 3/95 page 16 which I have been unable to locate.

I suspect the gear bay and inside gear door colors were NMF as was most of the aircraft.

If anyone has this magazine issue or any additional pictures, views and information regarding the paint colors, etc. please PM me, I will greatly appreciate your help.

I thought FSM had an article on a NMF 109. Would that be the same one?

Mississippi

I think I know about the 109 article you mentioned but the aircraft in question is an FW 190F-8. Sorry, I updated the post.

Here's what I have: in the May 2012 FSM, there's an article about a NMF 190 that would be in the factory before painting, and the April 2009 FSM has an article about Kurt Gabler's NMF109. I was hoping it would be your particular bird, but they aren't.

Hello!

I like to help a fellow modeller, so I dug up a scan of said magazine. I have put it on my server here:

www.vietnam.net.pl/.../Jet_Prop_1995-03.pdf

I didn't have to much time to  read it carefully, but I guess there's a photo of the plane you're looking for on page 16. It is mentioned in the caption, that good ole' Eugen put his fianceê in the luggage compartment of that plane to flee from the Russians. If zouäre interested, I could do some more translation from German.

Bish - there are some nice shots of the DFS 230 in that mag, might be interesting for you.

Hope it helps, good luck with your modelling projects and have a nice day

Paweł

All comments and critique welcomed. Thanks for your honest opinions!

Pawel

Thank you so much. That's what I was looking for. If you could see if there are any details about colors, markings etc I will greatly appreciate your translation skills. Please feel free to PM me with any details.

Thanks!

Ernie
