I just don't make that kind of money. So I'm moving, but only a few miles down the road. I wouldn't want to move to a place that has a wildfire season anyway. I'll stick with tornado season Smile [:)]

I may be joining you soon!!!! Try $475 !!!!! It has gotten ridiculous out here. I am middle class, and can't afford the Median price of $475!!! and that's for a two bedroom!! I guess we'll have to save up some money, to move and buy us a cheap house!!!!

Cool Vin, I'll check that out.

Ausf, have you read "The Forgotten Soldier" ? It's a great memoir from a German soldier about fighting against the Russians. Excellent book.

I completely agree with your view of Tamiya's book. Well worth it.
I tend to lean towards memoirs to get it from the horse's mouth, so to speak. There has been a large influx of German and Russian soldier's accounts of the war recently with a few excellent reads.

After that I have a few non fiction to read, then I'll hunt down my copy of Starship Troopers and Farnahm's Freehold and get my Heinlein fix.

If you liked Starship Troopers, I'd recommend "The Forever War" by Joe Haldeman. It's a great quick read and deals with fairly realistic issues of ground combat,on "other" planets, time dilation, and space travel.

It's nice to see the end of a lot of work coming up at you. It's always a good feeling to get through something like that. Good luck with your school stuff.

I'm re-reading the Lord of the Rings trilogy right now. I figure I end up reading them over once every two years or so. After that I have a few non fiction to read, then I'll hunt down my copy of Starship Troopers and Farnahm's Freehold and get my Heinlein fix.

I have the book in my sweaty hands!!!! I only have three more weeks of school left, at which time I will be taking the summer off, and hope to catch up on all of my reading, including The new Gunslinger book, and the new one by Terry Goodkind. Just to name a couple. Oh, and of course, Ender's Game is on the top of the list!!! Right now I have 2 essays, two research papers, two final quizzes, and a large internet project to finish before May 21st. I know that weekend, I will breathe a very heavy sigh of relief!!! Where are you moving to? Hopefully not to CA.....it seems to be getting worse, and worse out here, and I myself may be jumping ship before too long!!

Good to know Heath, I'll see if I can pick those up soon. I'm moving next month, so it'll be a little while I'm afraid.

Have you read Ender's Game yet?

"Master Modeler" by S. Tamiya

"Basic and Advanced Tips and Techniques for Syrene Modeling" by Evergreen Scale Models

I can not stress enough how informative and insightful the Tamiya book is. It lets you go into a company that is extremely successful now, and shows you how they did it from nearly nothing. This is not a book about how to run business. This is a very touching, sometimes lighthearted account of Mr. Tamiya's rise through the modeling industry, and it wasn't always good for them. It also explains a bit about the modeling industry in general, and how they come up with new concepts, and kits. The translation is stupendous!!!! I have never, ever read a translated text that was as thoroughly translated as this. Congrats to the Translator for sure, he makes you feel like Mr. Tamiya is in your living room chatting it up with you!!!

The second book is a bible for scratchbuilding! I have read this book over 15 times, and every time I read it, I learn more!!! It goes through everything from tools you may need, down to different types of aircompressors, and even building your own tank. Pick it up if you want to know how to utilize styrene stock to it's fullest!!!!
