RFR: Missouri Mule II pictures &/or artwork
Posted by Quagmyre on Wednesday, May 5, 2004 12:04 PM
RFR stands for Request for References. I think it would be nice if we could establish such a practice here since there will mostly likely just be these such requests as well as voluntarily contributed postings of our own knowledge and references. Just a thought.

Now for the real reason behind the post! Big Smile [:D]

I've scoured the Internet using Google and other search engines for information, pictures and artwork of the Missouri Mule II B-26 bomber and come up with a few *.jpgs, etc. I'd like to create decals for this plane at 1/48 scale. I know a while back someone made them at 1/72, but that was a while ago, and I'm not sure they are still around or could be scaled up. Below are samples of what I have found in addition to a gem of an improvement on the first pic from the book "Flying Colors" by William Green and Gordon Swanborough - Highly recomended for those of us who do not read books and magazines for the articles. Big Smile [:D]

Any information pointing me in the direction for achieving my goal is much appreciated. Thanks!

Whadda ya know...my very own little topic! Big Smile [:D]

I am looking for this decal sheet. Superscale used to make it in 1/72 and 1/144 scale. Any information leading to the acquisition of this decal sheet would be very helpful. Thanks.

I just wanted to keep you some company here. I searched in a slightly more than halfhearted way and didn't come up with anything either.

At least now you won't feel so lonely.

Thanks Madda. I actually just acquired the 1/144 Superscale sheet. Gonna try to scale it up myself (for my own use of course). Wink [;)] Figure I can scan the sheet, multiply by three and touchup in Photoshop accordingly. We'll see. Might be easier if I had found the 1/72, but beggars can't be choosers.
