So we agree after all, thats nice Big Smile [:D]
I agree its not a GREAT book, but its a good book considering the price.
Yes there are a few pics there that I haven't seen before either.
And yes I have seen the Iwata ad' in the last couple of FSM issues, and it looks fantastic..........I have always thought that the tiger in that ad' was a 1/16th scale because of the detail but if it is 1/35 then its unbelieveable.

Boy I hope you'll like the 503 book, but if you like books like "Tiger I & II combat tactics" by T.Jentz...........then you will LOVE this one........I think.......I hope Wink [;)]Big Smile [:D]

Monrad,
It's the same book and I am happy to have it in my colection. Though I highly value your opinion and recommendations, what prompted me to want this book was a post quite a while ago where there was a flurry of excitement over it's release.
The book is a nice compilation of info for, as you said, a quick reference.
It also contains a few pics I have yet to have seen that are worth the price right there.
Maybe my first post came across sounding harsher than I intended.
I only meant to comment about the builds featured.
If you have seen the Iwata Advert in one of the last two FSMs. The ad features the rear of a Tiger build by Dextras. Absolutely amazing. That has become the high standard for me.
I'm ordering 503 very soon, based on YOUR recommendation.

If it is the one I rewieved a month ago ( The modelers guide to the tiger tank ), then I would have to disagree.
I have 10 Tiger books, including those by T. Jentz ( you already knew that ausf ) but I find this book to be a helpful asset. I can use it as a quick reference.
I did say in my rewiev that there was nothing new in this book.

I think mr. Patrick A. Stansell's models are great, I have already learned from his tips and tricks.

Well ausf, we have agreed on alot of things in the past.........but I guess this book is not one of them. I am sorry if you bought it on my recomendation, but I still think its a good book.

In all honesty, I have to say I'm a little disappointed. This is only my opinion, before I step on anyone's toes here: this is at first glance. The kits are nice but all very clean.
Truthfully, builds by members of this forum certainly rival and some surpass in my judgement.
Maybe it's because I have the Jentz collection as well as Creighton's Tamiya book and others, but I expected my jaw to drop and it didn't.

Alright, let me have it.
