That's hilarious Sharkskin, I can only imagine the fits the guys at NORAD must have had over that. Actually, your post may end up helping more than you thought. Your comment about Texas AND pilots got me thinking, and I realized that the bird I want to build, 101067, was modified for ECM work by the USAF, not the Candian Forces, so I might be able to find some info on it in American services, before the craft was transferred. On that note, anybody have any idea where I could find info on American ECM Voodoos?

This is no help to you, but might be amusing. I was told this by some friends of mine who were Texas ANG Voodoo pilots. The Canadian interceptor pilots, to this day a wild bunch of guys, used that hugely powerful search/identification light on the side of the plane under the left side of the canopy, to create "UFO" sightings. At night, they would have two planes approach head on at near supersonic speed. One plane would have its light on. Just as the planes passed each other, the first plane turned it light off, the second plane turned its on. It have the illusion of an "alien" craft suddently reversing direction at an impossibly high rate of speed. The pilots told me it drove NORAD crazy with all the calls from the frozen north they'd get. And I love their name for the F-104s they flew: The Aluminum Death Tube.

Try this link.... http://www.airforce.forces.ca/organization3_e.asp

There's a number of photos on the left side of the page. One is a photo of 101067.

Mike Belcher, owner of Belcher Bits and a member of IPMS Ottawa makes a 1:48 and 1:72 scale decal sheet for this aircfraft and any RCAF Voodoo.

Try contacting Armed Forces Public Affairs. Maybe they can help you with your query. You can also try a google search with 414 Squadron or 22 Wing. Who knows what you'll find.

Good luck.

Hi all, I was just wondering if anybody out there knows of a good source for photos of Canadian CF-101 Voodoos, specifically S/N 101067 (the "Electric Voodoo"), but photos of any of the Canadian birds would do. Thanks.
