Gee, Wolf, if I had a MiG 21, I wouldn't be as picky as that -- you've shown us one beautiful scheme, and I'd build it in a minute. BTW, who makes the best MiG 21 now in 1/48. I like the old, uncluttered variations. The last one I built was abou 12 years ago, the only non-toy that came in 1/48, and I built it for Combat Jets Flying Museum. It was a model of our MiG 21, which we acquired in a roundabout way from the Hungarian AF, through China and some othrer mysterious route, then painted in Soviet markings.
But, back to the model, my assignment was to do our 1:1 plane in 1/48, and all I recall about the kit was that the plastic was very soft, thick and heavy and that the decals on the enormous sheet, including the stencils, all had to be cut out individually because the whole sheet was on one clear film. Kit built up okay for the time, and in practically every single MiG-21 varient. Now, who can tell me who produced those kits, for they made other Eastern Bloc kits as well? I think it was Czech or Polish firm.
