The Mongols generally wore earth colors, with some bright "rank/honor" decorations. They were a nomadic people that basically lived off the land, and their flocks that they took everywhere. Those flocks of goats and horses provided food, clothing and shelter for them.
The Russian Knights I know little about, but there are probably several others that are more knowledgeable and can lead you in the right direction.
