color schemes for German fast attack boat?
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, October 3, 2004 10:07 PM
Just purchased a 1/72 scale German shnellboot and I'm hoping sum1 will have images for references pertaining to the color schemes of this particular ship. I'm not really familiar with the camouflage schemes for ships.

hey spydur... sorry this has taken so long... I did the S-100 myself awhile back... the color reference they give you inthe instructions doesnt help much does it? I had a bunch of links and as soon as I go through and find them I'll post em here... that's one fine looking boat when done right... in fact I am thinking of doing a second one...

have you built that particular kit yet? I can give you a heads up on one or two tight fits in it if ya haven't...

ok here is one or two... I have seen two basic color schmes of the S Boats... one is in an almost white grey hull with a aircraft grey (with a touch of blue) decks... don't know the actual german color codes, just matched pics I found as best I could...

To a S boat with an all over aircraft grey type shade of grey (with the touch of blue) I have included a review of the model here: (note the bottom hull color is red with the black demarcation line here, the kit says all anthracite grey for the lower hull... I have found examples of both on the web in WWII pics... you choose... I liked the all anthracite grey bottom)

(check out the links at the bottom, the last one has a reference to the exact boat in the kit!)

I'll post more if I find em... this was definitely a NICE kit to build! took awhile.. but nice!!!

Hey tho9900, thanks for the links. They will really come in handy. I actually went out and purchased a second kit of the S-100 for $20 just in case i make some mistakes. It looks like it 's going to be an awesome build. Thanks again for the links bro.
